About
Krista Kleban is a multidisciplinary creative living in Chicago, Illinois. She has been and done a lot of things over the years, which have given her a unique skill set and turned her into what she considers a well-rounded human being. Some of her endeavors include senior jewelry designer for corporations like Fossil and Michael Kors, product development manager for housewares company Crate & Barrel, associate director of UX research at the Alzheimer’s Association, adjunct professor in DePaul’s Human Computer Interaction Graduate program, and of course, artist and designer at Finding Flowers Studio. Krista has always forged her own path, led by curiosity and her desire to challenge herself personally and professionally.
Years of travel overseas as a designer and product developer gave Krista the privilege of observing hand crafted production techniques like glass blowing in Poland, woodblock printing in India, and basket weaving in Indonesia. The result is a deep appreciation for slow-made, high quality, one-of-a-kind goods. Working with brilliant textile designers also exposed Krista to gorgeous painterly floral prints, which sparked her interest in picking up a paintbrush and creating her own.
Krista draws inspiration from numerous resources, including 60s and 70s fashion, mid century modern interiors, and her growing collection of vintage jewelry and floral dresses procured from flea markets and vintage shops around the world.
